Salé - Morocco This is beautifully decorated with Kufic script carved and interlaced with two square towers was built by Sultan Abou Youssef Yacoub in 1260. It is the oldest monument built by the Merinids in Morocco. Originally, it overlooked a canal linking the Bouregreg River to the port of Salé.
